Your Company's Newest Recruits - A Flock Of Sheep
Companies with their own staff restaurant facilities are being invited to try a new way of ensuring that their customers always receive top quality lamb from reliable, traceable sources – adopt your own flock of sheep.
The company flock scheme is being offered by Cambridge based www.tinyfarmer.co.uk which aims to offer high quality meat raised using sustainable techniques on farms that have been personally inspected by Tiny Farmer.
Tiny Farmer’s Grant Hawthorne explains: “Our customers buy their meat from us because they want the reassurance that the animals have been treated properly, reared in humane conditions and that they have been reared locally.
“Those concerns could easily equally apply to businesses with staff restaurant facilities
“For a fixed price of £2,000 a company can have its own flock of Black Welsh Mountain sheep of around twenty ewes. Once they have lambed the staff restaurant will be able to treat their customers to around 250 kilos of great tasting lamb.”
Staff restaurants don’t have to take all the lamb at once. It can be ordered in small quantities over a period of time and they can order a variety of cuts to suit their recipe plans for the staff restaurant or even a summer barbecue.
Companies taking up the scheme will be sent regular updates of how the flock is being managed and their development towards the lambing season.
The fixed price of sponsoring the flock covers all feed, routine management and all vets’ bills.
